Its been a long time comin, this iconic LP release back in 1973 under the name "Hustlers Convention" has now been issued for the first time on 7" vinyl.
We have made a mini gatefold edition with insert.
Two iconic tracks the super heavey "Sport" & on the flip "Four Bitches" vocalised by the master of jazz rap Lightining Rod aka Jalal Mansur Nuriddin, leader of the band the last poets.
The lat poets are one of the major influence on hip hop music and combiners to black poetry, funk, jazz and spoken word.
Jalaluddin Mansur Nuriddin was an American musician and poet. He was one of the founding members of The Last Poets, a group of poets and musicians that evolved in the 1960s. Earlier in his career he used the names Lightnin' Rod and Alafia Pudim. He is sometimes called "The Grandfather of Rap" and was a devout Muslim, poet, acupuncturist, and martial art expert. Nuriddin's talent and genius with words and rhythm are renowned. He produced some epic poems. The band on this release just happens to be the one and only Kool & the Gang.
