DESCRIPTION

In 1959, Louis Armstrong's live performance at the Oriental Theater (now James M. Nederlander Theater) in Chicago made jazz history. “Satchmo”, an emblematic figure of the time, shone through his talent on the trumpet and his stage charisma, popularizing jazz worldwide. With classics such as "Bill Bailey" and "Cornet Chop Suey" the concert cemented the golden era of jazz and Armstrong's legacy, a blend of energy, emotion, and unity, still inspiring the world today.
