DESCRIPTION
Marcos Valle is one of the few artists you cannot miss if you have the slightest interest in Brazilian music. Whether your taste is focused on bossa jazz, samba, psych folk or soul, Valle has surely recorded a great album for you. By the late 60s he had already put out enough quality records to secure a place within the top Brazilian songwriters of all time, but his career luckily did not stop there and he continued releasing amazing music over the following decades until this day.
By the dawn of the 1970s, the multi-talented Valle was entering a new era, ready to test the government censors (Brazil was under strict military rule since a coup d’état in 1964) and express a socially aware stance and a playful hodge-podge of musical styles including samba, bossa nova, baião (a rhythmic beat from the rural northeast of Brazil), black American music, and rock.
“Marcos Valle” was originally released in 1970 and features a dynamic musical backing from some of Brazil’s most gifted players. Hip-hop fans may even recognize the opening horn blasts of ‘Ele E Ela,’ sampled to great effect on Jay-Z’s “Thank You.”
It includes some of his most popular songs like ‘Freio Aerodinamico’ and ‘Os Grilos’, swinging between sophistication and groove…

It was released in 1974 by the legendary Bolivian rock band Climax and was a big leap from their early recordings, where they paid tribute to their musical heroes. It became a landmark of prog rock in Bolivia and one of the few conceptual albums produced in the country.
“Gusano mecánico” explores themes such as the loss of personal essence and the vindication of indigenous peoples.

DESCRIPTION
On October 7, 1974, the now-historic “Gusano mecánico” was released — the only full-length album by the legendary Bolivian rock band Climax. Founded in 1968 from the remnants of the disbanded Los Black Byrds and the unrealized project The Turtles, Climax was formed by guitarist José “Pepe” Eguino and bassist Javier Saldías, who developed a strong bond with drummer Álvaro Córdova, cemented by their shared passion for rock. Together, they embarked on a journey of self-discovery, spending several months in the United States during a crucial period straddling the end of the Summer of Love and the lead-up to Woodstock.
This period, perhaps the most significant of the 1960s countercultural movement, saw an explosion of artistic expression driven by dissatisfaction with the society that the youth had inherited from their parents. Within this context, the influence of iconic bands such as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Blue Cheer, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer played a pivotal role in their decision to return to Bolivia and form the country's first ‘power trio’. Their first EPs paid tribute to their musical heroes.
They quite literally brought psychedelic and prog rock to Bolivia by carrying new, experimental vinyl records in their luggage, at a time when rock music (and music in general) had very limited exposure due to the scarcity of media resources. Their musical project reflected their influences and laid down the first traces of what would later be called heavy rock, a genre that never achieved widespread popularity in Bolivia.
“Gusano mecánico” was a big leap from their previous recordings. Climax embarked on a prog rock journey, exploring themes such as the loss of personal essence and the vindication of indigenous peoples. Their rebellious discourse opposed the mechanization of humankind brought about by past decades of industrial exploitation in which they resist being absorbed by the system. It became a landmark of prog rock in Bolivia and one of the few conceptual albums produced in the country.
Over time, Climax’s music has gained cult status among prog rock fans. Their album became a coveted collector’s item, highly valued by music lovers worldwide. It was even included in 5001 Record Collector Dreams by Hans Pokora, receiving the highest rarity rating and hailed as a musical masterpiece. Only two South American albums received this distinction.

DESCRIPTION
Compiled by Bob Stanley to document the acid folk scene, “Gather In The Mushrooms” was first issued in 2004 on Sanctuary as a CD-only release; it proved popular enough for a sequel entitled “Early Morning Hush” two years later.
This new edition of “Gather In The Mushrooms” contains the cream of both long-deleted compilations with a few additions – COB, Roy Harper, Fotheringay – that weren’t available to Sanctuary at the time. Though they aren’t traditional, these songs have an authenticity of their own, an autumnal atmosphere and a naivety which proved influential in the 00s neo-folk boom (Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Alasdair Roberts, Tunng et al) but impossible to replicate. For many of these acts at the end of the 60s, folk music and the hippy world that surrounded them was a way of life, a way of opting out from the Vietnam war, Angry Brigade and three-day-week early 70s. Anne Briggs lived in a caravan in Suffolk, Shelagh McDonald lived in a tent, Vashti Bunyan eschewed electricity; they weren’t part-timers. Listening to “Gather In The Mushrooms”, we are transported to a time when no one used the term post-modernist.
It may not have resonated with dyed-in-the wool political folkies, but over five decades later this music sounds very evocative of an England of yore – not necessarily one of poachers and pedlars, but one of long-haired youths in tie-dye T-shirts, bikers and hippies, acoustic guitars played in white stone cottages. Groups like Stone Angel (Bonus Track), Midwinter and Oberon made primitive, privately recorded folk albums; today they sound as distant and mystical as the field recordings of Alan Lomax. The sincerity and folk knowledge of a group like Forest becomes irrelevant once you hear something as eerie and evocative as ‘Graveyard’. Home-made, homely, warm as soup or chilling as a hoar frost, this is music of innocence and rare beauty.

DESCRIPTION
Pure, unfiltered, and unrelenting—A Different Kind of Payne is a masterclass in lyrical proficiency, delivered with reckless abandonment by RJ Payne and fueled by the cinematic, hard-hitting production of Long Island’s own BP Infinite. This is a no- frills, no-features, all-bars affair, where Payne goes scorched earth over BP’s menacing soundscapes, proving once again why he’s one of the most feared lyricists in the game.
Following the success of his star-studded producer album Kill or Be Killed—which boasts features from Redman, Skyzoo, Cory Gunz, Tragedy Khadafi, Nature, E L U C I D, and Payne himself—BP Infinite flips the script with an entirely singular vision. Here, he crafts a sonic battlefield tailor-made for RJ’s relentless delivery, weaving gritty, soulful samples, hard-hitting percussion, and cinematic arrangements into an immersive listening experience.
For RJ Payne, A Different Kind of Payne comes on the heels of an unstoppable run, stacking bodies on projects like Hellraiser, GUTTR (alongside Ras Kass & Havoc), They Live (produced by Bucky Luger), and most recently 3 PIECE, crafted by the legendary Erick Sermon. With each release, Payne has continued to raise the stakes, and this project only solidifies his status as a top-tier bar assassin.
Released in partnership between Beautiful Payment Entertainment and Common Virtue Records, A Different Kind of Payne is raw, unapologetic hip-hop at its finest—a brutal display of elite lyricism and masterful production, leaving no room for mercy.

DESCRIPTION
“In my category, I’m the one and only,” proclaimed Oakland legend Too $hort on his 1990 single “Short But Funky.” Few disagreed then, and even fewer would do so decades later. First appearing in the mid-1980s, slinging homemade tapes out of his car trunk, the man born Todd Shaw has always stayed true to himself. Although he is known more for the dirty side of his rap game, on “Short But Funky,” he also reminds listeners of an important fact: “There’s a serious side to everything I say.” Short Dog’s In The House, was $hort’s sixth studio album, and his second for the Jive label. By the time it hit, he was a West Coast legend, but his rep was growing Eastwards, as the rest of the country started opening its ears to new sounds. Peaking at #20 on the national Billboard 200 chart, the album was exactly what his dedicated fans expected funky, 70s drenched beats made for cars on the boulevard, and no nonsense lyrics that made more sense and dropped more knowledge than he was ever given credit for. For examples of his conscious side, look no further than the P-Funk fueled “It’s Your Life” or the album’s lead single, “The Ghetto.” The album’s second single “Short But Funky” landed somewhere in the middle of $hort and Todd Shaw, talking about where he was at as the new decade broke, and making it clear that he wasn’t going anywhere. His mortality was mainly on his mind after rumors had surfaced the year before that he had died in a crack house. He speaks directly to this crazy episode on “Dead Or Alive.” And although it’s mostly a solo affair, he brings in some heavy artillery and a lot of not for the kids profanity on “Ain’t Nothin’ But A Word To Me,” featuring none other than Ice Cube In between, $hort distributed plenty of tales and charisma for fans to eat up, continuing to build his legendary status as one of the rap trailblazers of the era. Get On Down has repressed this 1990 Bay Area classic album on Blue and Ruby Color-In-Color vinyl

With "Bazuko," the two aren't just following up on "Aguardiente"; they're raising the stakes, delivering a project that is as potent and unforgettable as its namesake.

Inspired by the Dr Dre classic, The Chronic, the concept for this release was to bridge gaps between generations, as well as coasts, while showing love to the album that introduced the world to Death Row Records. The Chronic is a timeless masterpiece that shifted not only the trajectory of Hip Hop culture at the tail end of 1992, but the entire scope of the music industry from that point on. It’s telling when an album that was recorded 3 decades ago can still provide a template for art created today, which is precisely what Big Ghost Ltd has done here. 38 Spesh & Conway are reputed spitters, who have displayed ease with rhyming over everything from dusty loops to contemporary trap beats. The fact that they can sound this naturally compelling over vintage G-funk beats is a testament to their undeniable talents.

Smith’s Land of Music offers listeners an imaginative escape from the everyday, a vibrant sonic retreat that balances experimentalism with a deep sense of relaxation. Visually, it's paired perfectly with the striking album art courtesy of Brazil-based artists Uinverso, comprised of sisters Nadiuska and Priscila Furtado. BRAVADO INTiMO... boasts an additional 7 tracks with features from Ab-Soul, Denzel Curry, & Joey Bada$$. Production is handled by a wide range of talent including TaeBeast, Mario Luciano, Kal Banx, Oliver Easton, Rascal, and more. Creating a balance between the strength of bravado and the vulnerability of being intimate. A new journey awaits in "BRAVADO INTiMO..." or (B.i.) by .idk. (Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge). The name itself mirrors the enigmatic creator's duality. This musical journey is less of a narrative in words and more of an exploration of essence and melodic resonance. Through a fusion of soul, jazz, and hip hop, with a futuristic touch courtesy of the electronic leaning sequencer, .idk. crafts a sonic landscape that defies convention. “My goal with this album was to simplify everything.” With a concise 51-minute runtime and a focus on conceptual clarity, "BRAVADO INTiMO..." emerges as one of .idk.’s most accessible and cohesive projects to date. “With B.i., I just wanted to sing over beats that artists like MF DOOM would normally rap over and only rap when it felt the most natural” Drawing inspiration from his collaborations with MF DOOM, .idk. effortlessly transitions between singing and rapping, creating a seamless experience that captivates from start to finish. .idk.’s efforts provide rapping, singing, production, and even creative direction for a very specific language in a world that he governs quite well. BRAVADO INTiMO... (B.i.) provides a new palette for the future of melodic rap while capturing the essence of hip hop’s foundation.

DESCRIPTION
The third LP in Now Again's Memphis Rap series is Gotta Get My Pimp On. Lo-fi pimp player raps recorded on a four-track cassette in Shawty Pimp's bedroom in 1994.
This is part of Now Again Records multiple LP series on the History of Memphis Rap, which attempts to capture Memphis and its underground rap scene as it began to produce some of the most distinctive music of the ’90s.
This was a unique hip-hop strain – visceral and often vicious. It was a local, low-fi, cassette-tape based movement – yet it went on to change the course of rap music.
These albums have never been pressed on vinyl – until now. From Skinny Pimp and Carmike to Gangsta Blac and Shawty Pimp, these albums have been relegated to the proverbial bins of history and bootlegged, with unofficial copies still fetching top dollar on the secondary market. These albums were all licensed directly from their original creators, and come on limited edition colored vinyl with artist-approved imagery for their first LP iterations.
You can read the story of the Memphis Rap scene in a 12-page, oversized booklet with notes by Torii MacAdams. It captures the story of Memphis rap starting with the city’s founding and ending with an auto supply shop that sold these albums over the counter, with all points in between.

That Mexican OT is making sure Texas has a seat secured at the rap table. The Tejano rapper recently burst onto the scene with exuberant, confidence-filled bars and the truck-rattling sensibilities of prime southern rap, mixed with the experimentation of DJ Screw’s signature sludgy chopped-n-screwed sound. OT rose to fame off the strength of his legendary linkup with Houston royalty Paul Wall on “Johnny Dang”, which has amassed over 300 million streams to date.
He parlayed that success into his breakout project Lonestar Luchador, which has been heralded by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, HipHopDX, The Houston Chronicle, and more. Embodying the resilience and fire of Texas pride, the album encapsulates the energy of an artist who delivers on every bar and every beat, crafting knockout anthems that resonate far beyond borders. Now, Lonestar Luchador is available on vinyl featuring a mini poster insert,
with artwork by Jesse California.

After breaking through with a gold selling debut in the late 1990’s, Harlem emcee Cam’ron quickly emerged as a leading figure in hip-hop, just as the genre was reaching mass audiences for the first time. A platinum-selling classic on Roc-A-Fella Records came a few years later, followed by the founding of the iconic collective Dipset and the release of three more seismic solo albums over the course of the 2000s. The last chapter in his historic run was 2009’s Crime Pays, which drew praise from critics while also lighting up the Billboard Charts, showcasing Cam’s sonic evolution while proving his pen game remained unmatched. More than 15 years after it’s release, this vital collection is now receiving an official vinyl pressing for the first time ever. A perpetually underrated lyricist with transcendent rhyme mechanics embedded in his leisurely flow, Cam’ron is in peak form on Crime Pays, effortlessly walking listeners through the details of his fascinating life and times. With suprisingly modern production supplied by AraabMuzik, I.N.F.O., Skitzo, and more, this memorable album is an important chapter in the story of a truly essential artist.

DESCRIPTION
When we last heard from Bay Area producer DEAD PERRY, he was riding high on the critical success of "The Art Of Reanimation" album. That album was a re-imagining of legendary Hieroglyphics crew emcee Casual's work from his "Big Head Science" album.
However on the forthcoming "Acoustic Shadows" album, as the title implies things get a bit dark. As he relays "when I made (The Art Of Reanimation) with Cas, I wanted to cater to the specific sound that Hieroglyphics has, but put my spin on it without making it too dark (though there are a couple of dark gems sprinkled throughout). I knew that my next album was going to be a solo LP and I wanted it to be something special. Dark and grimy has always been my style of beat making so I wanted to showcase that with this record."
However, the title also has a double meaning to the producer. "The term Acoustic Shadows comes from a Civil War phenomenon that refers to a sonic blind spot. Due to geographical obstructions disrupting sound waves you could think you are a great distance from the battlefield while you could already be in it. It also refers to my style keeping to the shadows and out of the limelight, when I only appear in photos wearing a mask, it's not because I’m on that post MF Doom craze, it's because I came from graffiti and graffiti artists let their art be their only face to the public."
That style is showcased throughout the forthcoming album, including his choice of collaborators include Casual, Daniel Son, Estee Nack, Al Divino, Raz Fresco, Ill Bill, Goretex, Hus Kingpin, Crimeapple, Planet Asia, Da Flyy Hooligan, Izrell, P-Dirt, J-Spliff and cuts from DJ Eclipse. Concepts also lent itself to the grime including the John Carpenter-esque synth laden "Call Me Snake" track, which inadvertently inspired the emcees. As DEAD PERRY relates "I give the beats a place-holder title until the track is done so this one was 'Die Kurt Russ.' P-Dirt chose to create the concept off the beat title. Crafting that song was a fun experience." It also has a full circle moment as DEAD PERRY and Casual expand their "White Crown" single from their previous project on this release enlisting Planet Asia to drop an additional Afro-Centric verse.

In the turbulent world of hip-hop, few artists are able to make the transition from hot young star to acclaimed rap luminary. Los Angeles emcee Blu has followed this rare path, graduating from a spot on the 2009 XXL Freshman list to an expansive catalog with more than 25 celebrated releases. Now, the talented lyricist is celebrating his remarkable journey with Forty, a new album entirely produced by influential beatsmith August Fanon, who has crafted tracks for Westside Gunn, Mach-Hommy, Tha God Fahim, billy woods, Navy Blue, and more. “This album is a celebration of me reaching 40 years of age,” Blu explains. “All the content is a reflection of where I am mentally at the age of 40.” With intricate verses packed with wisdom and maturity, the collection finds Blu and a host of guests reflecting on happiness, religion, love, knowledge, humanity, and more. Fanon brings these tracks to life with a unique production approach, taking it back to basics with soul heavy soundscapes Blu describes as “straight loops, no drum programming or layers, just really soulful loops.” With appearances by Kota The Friend, Asher Roth, R.A.P. Ferreira, Mickey Factz, Homeboy Sandman, Chester Watson, Fashawn, and more, Forty is a timless experience from an artist who remains a vital presence in any decade of life.

(Kickin’ Incredibly Dope Shit). The 16 track project featured some notable guest appearances by Wiz Khalifa and Phonte of Little Brother/The Foreign Exchange. DESCRIPTION
This album originally was planned for release in 2022—that’s when Defcee and Parallel Thought first connected, built on a mutual respect for each other’s discographies. Defcee was fresh off the success of his Backwoodz debut, Trapdoor (produced by Messiah Musik), while Parallel Thought had just released The Wild End, their collaborative album with another Chicago legend, Tree. An initial beat pack was sent, quickly followed by a demo of songs recorded by Defcee. The foundation was there, but then—silence. Long story short…life happened. Fast forward to July 2024, and Defcee spent a week in Freehold, recording the entirety of Other Blues at Parallel Thought’s studio. Other Blues lays bare small joys, big hurts, and both swagger and insecurity in equal measure, serving as a testament to honesty, redemption, and a refocusing on life’s most important priorities. Deeply personal and introspective, the album showcases Defcee’s raw, honest lyricism over Parallel Thought’s smoked-out, heavy, hazy jazz soundscapes. The project also features guest verses from extended family—New Jersey’s feature king, Fatboi Sharif, and fellow Chicagoan, Tree. Despite balancing day jobs, kids, and family, Defcee & Parallel Thought prove that music can still sound like it comes first.

DESCRIPTION
In 1976, legendary musician and composer Roy Ayers released one of the most iconic albums of his career: "Everybody Loves the Sunshine." This album not only solidified Ayers as a key figure in the world of jazz-funk but also marked a milestone in soul music and contemporary jazz. It features a sophisticated blend of irresistible grooves, smooth melodies, and a unique sound that has endured over the years, becoming a reference for multiple generations of musicians and listeners.
By the mid-70s, Ayers had already established his reputation with his band, Roy Ayers Ubiquity, and his distinctive use of the vibraphone, which became his personal trademark. However, with this album, Ayers ventured into a smoother, more accessible sound, partly in response to the rise of disco music and the growing interest in more experimental sounds within the music scene. Throughout its ten tracks, Ayers managed to create a sonic atmosphere that evoked both the warmth of summer and the sophistication of jazz from that era, set against a backdrop of modern soul.
The production was carried out by Ayers himself, along with his producer and friend, David R. Williams, and features the wonderful sound of Phillip Woo's Fender Rhodes and the powerful energy of the rest of the band, achieving an unmistakable authenticity and freshness. Some of its most well-known songs include the title track, ‘Everybody Loves the Sunshine,’ ‘The Golden Rod,’ and ‘The Third Eye,’ which quickly became classics of jazz-funk and soul.
This album is crucial in Roy Ayers' career, as it demonstrates his ability to remain relevant and creative in an ever-changing music industry. Over the years, "Everybody Loves the Sunshine" has become a cult album, frequently featured in DJ sets by artists like Gilles Peterson, Theo Parrish, and Lefto. Summertime soul classic!

"Electròccid àccid alquimístic xoc" marks a shift in Pau Riba’s sound—now electrified and fully embracing rock under the influence of artists like Lou Reed, Ray Davies, and Kevin Ayers.

DESCRIPTION
"Electròccid àccid alquimístic xoc" marks a shift in Pau Riba’s sound—now electrified and fully embracing rock under the influence of artists like Lou Reed—opening a new chapter as he distances himself from his immediate past. The magical "Dioptria" had been left behind.
The album was recorded in the winter of 1975 with the help of the same group of musicians who had accompanied him a few months earlier at a concert at Zeleste to debut new songs: a mix of Valencian musicians from bands like Paranoia Dea and guitarist Eduardo Bort’s group.
Once again, Riba left everyone bewildered with a work that, on its own, gave early substance to what would eventually be known as roc català, of which Riba may well have been its most authentic representative.
There are nods to Lou Reed, Ray Davies, and Kevin Ayers, but the core of "Electròccid…" is defined by Riba’s own authorship. With lyrics that veer from poetic to absurdly ironic, Riba explores themes like the moon, the stars, death, love, women, the devil, and the bourgeoisie—fueling the originality that made him such a unique artist. It's striking how naturally and effortlessly Riba incorporated the Catalan language into the rock idiom—and vice versa.

This elusive and lesser-known collector’s gem by Óscar Agudello y el Combo Moderno called “Pa’ mi muñeca” is an album devoted to recreating the strength of a musical genre that’s been the soundtrack of Colombian life for decades and represents a milestone on the route cumbia had taken by 1966, when it was originally released on Discos Fuentes. It’s exactly the kind of music that lights up a tambó or a fandango circle on carnival night.

DESCRIPTION
In 1966, Óscar Agudelo recorded this elusive and lesser-known collector’s gem called “Pa’ mi muñeca” for Discos Fuentes. It is a rarity where the artist took an unexpected musical turn and performed several porros, paseaitos, gaitas, and cumbias, evoking the swaying motion and rolling waves of Colombia’s Caribbean sound.
It resonates with the echoes of a romantic minstrel laced with an unexpected richness of nuance, a hallmark of the cumbia sound. It’s exactly the kind of music that lights up a tambó or a fandango circle on carnival night. A dozen tracks, none of them new, but suffused with a consciousness that can be understood within the context of their time and with the personality of the artist bold enough to bring them to life.
‘Madre cumbia’ opens the album with a festive, nostalgic mood, infused with the simple beauty and the electrifying beat of the tropics that immediately makes you want to get up and dance. It’s a fantastic example of how to perform a song with passion and make the listener fall instantly in love with an album. ‘Pa’ mi muñeca’, the title track, is a fast-paced paseaito that explores new paths that took a shortcut to the dance halls. A showstopper on the dance floor. ‘Está como mango’ is a porro-cumbia that charms with a rich tapestry of compliments, the calling card of many old-school tropical songs. ‘Cumbia de recuerdo’, ‘Cumbia suave’, ‘Cumbia de Santa Marta’, are back-to-back cumbias.
This is an album devoted to recreating the strength of a musical genre that’s been the soundtrack of Colombian life for decades. It’s a record dedicated to capturing good times, filled with simple dreams, steeped in joyful energy, and shining with the uninhibited flair, or better said, the quality of the sixties.
This album represents a milestone on the route cumbia had taken, both for Discos Fuentes and maestro Agudelo.

Though they had recorded a host of other songs, and were on the verge of signing to a major label, their trajectory stalled and the band splintered by the early 1980s. In the early 2000s, Record Player principle Charles Jackson surfaced with their unreleased songs. Todate, only two Record Player songs have been reissued, as part of Now-Again's long-running Soul Cal series. DESCRIPTION
LA-based producer Real Bad Man and Detroit artist ZelooperZ release their joint album Dear Psilocybin via the producer’s own Real Bad Man Records. The album marks the duo’s first collaboration, culminating in a full-length project that also features guest appearances from Boldy James, MAVI and a verse from The Alchemist. On Dear Psilocybin, ZelooperZ invokes unconventional production out of Real Bad Man to match his own unpredictable and outlandish delivery, working outside of traditional song structures and existing in a lane of his own. The Detroit multihyphenate, who is an integral part of Danny Brown’s Bruiser Brigadecollective and also an accomplished visual artist, painted the album’s corresponding cover artwork as well.
“I definitely haven’t made anything like this before, it’s a very subtle version of my music as far as tone, ” ZelooperZ explained in a conversation with Real Bad Man for his RBM Radio show. He elaborates on the off-kilter approach to the way he recorded to say, “the album feels like a movie soundtrack for a film about a man losing his mind and getting spurts of memories along the way. ”
Speaking about how the project differs from the rest of his collaborative catalog, RBM says, “It’s trippy and it’s a little different – but the main goal was for it to be authentic to Z and his process. ” That dedication to authenticity rings true across his catalog, drawing back to the foundations of his beginnings as a producer, learning the fundamentals of sampling, experimenting with chords and learning to piece songs together by ear. RBM builds a cohesive production arc around each artist he works with, catered to their strengths as artists, working with a variety of lyrical stylists including Memphis rapper Lukah, Pink Siifu, Blu, Kool Keith, Elcamino & more.
Real Bad Man is the production moniker of visual artist and designer Adam Jay Weissman. A designer and visual artist first, he made his foray into music through his On High Alert series of imaginative, multi-generational compilations, which have featured the likes of Roc Marciano, ROME STREETZ, Pink Siifu, Maxo and more. In the years since, he’s partnered with some of hip- hop’s most talented and adventurous artists on full-length projects, refining and shaping the trajectory of some of rap’s most exciting independent artists.

A deeply personal journey of an aspiring artist (Solene) navigating the harsh realities of Hollywood. An album that explores the emotional toll of being a hopeless romantic in a city full of predators and narcissists. A raw look at survival — and the trauma that follows. DESCRIPTION
The original Madlib instrumentals to Georgia Anne Muldrow’s critically acclaimed album; “Seeds” which was released in 2012 on SomeOthaShip Connect. Heralded as one of her most captivating and immediate front-to-back statements of purpose, a deeply spiritual collection of songs. It was the first time in her career where she handed over all production duties to someone other than herself, that someone being the legendary Madlib. The beats on “Seeds” are naturally heavy, funky, soulful, abrupt yet hypnotic. All the characteristics of Madlib’s signature sound we know and love. On the B Side of the vinyl is a collection of Georgia Anne Muldrow instrumentals from across 3 Dudley Perkins albums, “Young Spirit”, “Self Study”, and “Holy Smokes.” Beats with synths reminiscent of J Dilla’s electronic era but with enough G-Funk influence to melt your Raiders hat. Bass lines that could get The Click back together. Georgia Anne Muldrow is a master of her craft on the beats and the microphone. This record is a testament to that. Rediscover “Seeds”, the magical powers of Madlib, and why beat tapes will never go out of style.

DESCRIPTION
Soli Deo Gloria, Latin for “Glory to God Alone,” is the new 10-track collaborative album from NYC wordsmith Homeboy Sandman and Sonnyjim, UK's double threat who sets aside his rapping prowess to focus entirely on production. The title isn’t just a nod to the sacred; it’s a declaration of purpose. This is hip-hop without compromise — razor-sharp lyricism laid bare over smoky, sample-rich grooves. Recorded with raw intensity and zero filler, Soli Deo Gloria brings together two of rap’s most distinctive voices. Sonnyjim crafts a cinematic soundscape steeped in jazz, soul, and vintage grit while Homeboy Sandman delivers verses packed with honesty, humor, and hard-earned wisdom. Each track feels like a moment carved from marble — meditative, unflinching, and timeless. It’s minimalist and masterful — no guests, no gimmicks, just two artists operating at their highest level. More than a collection of songs, Soli Deo Gloria plays like a reflection on purpose, presence, and personal freedom. “Whatever happens is supposed to happen. So relax. Read. Never give up. Lead with love. Be yourself and love yourself,” Homeboy Sandman concludes.

DESCRIPTION
Undeniably one of today’s most essential artists, the enigmatic polymath Jean Dawson has released his highly anticipated new album, Glimmer Of God, and it’s Jean like we’ve never seen or heard him before. The project houses a collection of songs that reveal a new chapter for Jean: 15 breathtaking tracks with incredible depth and a stunning theatrical approach that envelop a powerful message of hope and chronicle his personal journey of growth. The songs feature his vocal prowess front and center, soaring across intricate production and instrumentation and boundless sonic range that honors the sounds that shaped Jean. The project captures Jean’s deep admiration for his mother, whose profound impact remains at the core of his being and his art, while simultaneously celebrating the divine feminine that exists in all of us and can prove healing and liberating.
Jean’s most honest and deeply riveting work to date, Glimmer Of God, sees the young artist make an immeasurable mark on the larger pop arena, firmly continuing his reign as one of music’s foremost visionaries today. Sonically, the album pulls inspiration from the rich musical world that was nourished by Jean’s mother as a young child growing up between the US and Mexico. Here Jean flourishes in the impact of great artists that shaped him, such as Prince, Stevie Wonder, Modest Mouse, Zapp & Roger, and the other sounds from the 80s that his mother loved across pop, dance, rock, R&B, and more. Staying true to that era that nurtured some of music’s greatest icons that was founded on live instrumentation, the album features complete live instrumentation seen through the stunning sonic arrangements. The project was largely produced and composed by Jean and his team of close collaborators that includes Hoskins (Khalid, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Don Toliver, Wiz Khalifa), Vic Wainstein (Tyler, The Creator, Frank Ocean, Mac Miller, Odd Future), Biako (Masego, Fousheé, Fana Hues, Baby Rose), and Johnny May (Sam Short, Che Lingo).

DESCRIPTION
Lord Finesse brings back the rich, layered, and warm sounds of ‘90s hip-hop on his new instrumental album, The SP1200 Project: Sounds & Frequencies in Technicolor. Across the 17 tracks on here, the Bronx native delivers an undeniably potent dose of sample-flipping boom-bap that’s brimming with funk and soul.
Lord Finesse was inspired to put this project together after hearing how modern music tends to be so heavily compressed. “Sonically, a good amount of today’s hip-hop music sounds like it’s being played under a heavy quilt,” he explains. “What that means is certain frequencies are buried, and they can’t be felt or heard, destroying the vibe and energy of the production—no matter how good it is.”
As a result, he began to dig into his own crates to uncover gems that he could share with the world. While some of the tracks were produced for his own albums or for other artists, Finesse also found some never-before-heard instros. Those previously unreleased beats were intended for the likes of Big L and Grand Puba, among others, but they instead found a home in his digital stash—until now.
Sounds & Frequencies in Technicolor is truly a feast for hip-hop heads with its neck-snapping drums and chopped-up samples. From one track to the next, your ears are treated to nostalgia-tinged sounds from a variety of genres. “Symphonic Collective” could very well be a leftover from Marvin Gaye’s Trouble Man soundtrack, while “Electric Montage” covers Kool & The Gang’s funkiest synths and bass with layers of grime. Other standouts include “Lo-Fi in Technicolor” and “Habits of Desperation.”

DESCRIPTION
Finally back on vinyl. Now as a double vinyl LP, officially reissued. Must have! 3 Feet High and Rising is the debut studio album by hip hop trio De La Soul and was released on March 3, 1989 It marked the first of three full- length collaborations with producer Prince Paul, which would become the critical and commercial peak of both parties. Critically, as well as commercially, the album was a success. It contains the singles, "Me Myself and I", "The Magic Number", "Buddy", and "Eye Know". The album title came from the Johnny Cash song "Five Feet High and Rising". It is listed on Rolling Stone's 200 Essential Rock Records and The Source's 100 Best Rap Albums. When Village Voice held its annual Pazz & Jop Critics Poll for 1989, 3 Feet High and Rising was ranked #1. It was also listed on the Rolling Stone's The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Released amid the 1989 boom in gangsta rap, which gravitated towards hardcore, confrontational, violent lyrics, De La Soul's uniquely positive style made them an oddity beginning with the first single, "Me, Myself and I". Their positivity meant many observers labeled them a 'hippie' group, based on their declaration of the 'D.A.I.S.Y. Age' (Da. Inner. Soul. Yall). Sampling artists as diverse as Hall & Oates, Steely Dan and The Turtles, 3 Feet High and Rising is often viewed as the stylistic beginning of 1990s alternative hip hop (and especially jazz rap).

Impressive Collective & BBE Music announce ‘Brighter The Days’ – the 9th studio album by Omar – the world renowned UK soul star. This new album continues Omar’s long-standing collaboration with Impressive Collective’s Greg Boraman, which began in 2013 on Freestyle Records with the critically acclaimed ‘The Man’ album and continued with ‘Love In Beats’ and ‘The Omar Anthology’.
Omar Lyefook MBE, singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, solidifies his legendary status with his latest album, Brighter The Days. Over three decades, he has been a defining force in modern Black music, crafting a sound that seamlessly blends soul, funk, jazz, salsa, dub, and hip-hop, with roots in classical music. As he puts it, “Each album is an evolution, if you will. But I’d like to think this is my magnum opus.”
A dynamic collection, Brighter The Days builds upon Omar’s distinctive style with fresh inspiration. His warm, unmistakable voice—tinged with the richness of his Caribbean heritage —is complemented by lush arrangements. Organic drums, bass, brass, keys, and guitars meet the mechanical edge of samples and beats, creating a soundscape that is both timeless and innovative. Sweeping strings, inspired by his early training in orchestral music, add grandeur. “There’s nothing quite like that feeling of hearing all those strings play together,” he says, explaining their recurring presence in his work.
As always, Omar has gathered a stellar line up of collaborators. British legends like Paul Weller, arranger Chris Cameron, rapper Giggs and guitarist Tony Remy join forces with American icons including singers India Arie, Ledisi, Eric Roberson and Raheem DeVaughn, organist Ronnie Foster, and rapper Jeru The Damaja. The result is music that is ambitious in conception and flawless in execution.
The electric styles and highlights include There’s Much Love In The World, a hopeful anthem celebrating unity, Research featuring Honey Larochelle, a sexy and funky dance floor heater, and This Thing Called Life, which captures the album’s essence of optimism amidst challenges. Omar explains, “It’s a specific amount of time we have on this earth, so why waste it arguing and fighting? There are so many more things that connect us as opposed to driving us apart.”
In Brighter The Days, Omar reminds us that music and life are about finding light in the darkness. “Music is what I live for, but so too are my children. Brighter The Days just means something better is coming for all of us.”

DESCRIPTION
In the last decade, global audiences have increasingly explored Japanese music genres like city pop, rock, and reggae. Central to this resurgence has been BBE Music, known for its acclaimed releases on the J-Jazz and J-Jazz Masterclass Series. Guided by Ken Hidaka in Tokyo, BBE Music has now unearthed a treasure from an unexplored niche: the debut album of Japan's first authentic salsa band, Orquesta Del Sol, titled "Rainbow Love."
The roots of salsa in Japan trace back to Latin music pioneers such as Tadaaki Misago's Tokyo Cuban Boys, who played mambo and rumba post-World War II. However, salsa truly took hold in Japan in the 1970s, catalyzed by the Fania All-Stars' 1977 tour. Among those captivated was percussionist Masahito "Pecker" Hashida. Known for his reggae contributions through albums like "Pecker Power" and "Rasta Instantané Avec L'Effroyable Pecker," Pecker’s influence expanded after experiencing the vibrant salsa scene in New York City in 1977. Upon his return to Japan, he spearheaded the creation of Orquesta Del Sol, marking the inception of the salsa genre in Japan.
Orquesta Del Sol's popularity soared with performances that encompassed both covers and original pieces. The group’s rise was buoyed by Japanese session drummer Shuichi “Ponta” Murakami, whose participation in 1980 elevated their profile and led to a contract with Discomate, an arm of TBS Group. This label also featured artists like Toshiko Akiyoshi and Junko Yagami.
The band’s debut album, "Rainbow Love," was co-produced by Ponta and released in 1981. Apart from a cover of "Rumbambola" by Noro Morales, the album features original compositions performed in Japanese, Spanish, and English. The album cover, illustrated by renowned graphic artist and salsa enthusiast Yosuke Kawamura, mirrored the band’s pioneering spirit.
Masashi Takahashi, a noted Japanese Latin music specialist, observes in the newly commissioned liner notes that Orquesta Del Sol reflects shades of New Music, a genre linked to city pop. Takahashi notes that the musicians, deeply embedded in Tokyo’s vibrant studio scene, naturally gravitated towards creating a uniquely Japanese salsa sound. This sound, heavily inspired by Nuyorican salsa, has endured over the decades, warranting a worldwide reissue.
The reissue of "Rainbow Love" marks its first worldwide release on vinyl and digital formats, supplemented by seven bonus tracks previously only available on a CD reissue named "Legend Vol. 1" from the band's label, Uno Music, in 2000.
The band recorded these tracks some time after the release of their second album, Harajuku Live in the early 80s when they were offered album deals from many record companies. Four of the tracks were covers of songs of some of the favorite salsa artists of the band members that they performed at the time when they first started.
Juan Pachanga is a cover of Fania All-Stars included in the album Rhythm Machine, Campanero is a cover of José Mangual Jr. included in the album Tribute To Chano Pozo, Yo Soy La Rumba is a cover of Machito & His Orchestra included in their album Yo Soy La Rumba! and Duerme is a cover of the band Libre included in the album Con Salsa..Con Ritmo Vol. 2- Tiene Calidad.
All tracks have been remastered, with the original Japanese liner notes now available in English and accompanied by Takahashi's new insights.
The timing of this release dovetails with the growing global interest in historic Japanese music, spotlighting the origins of salsa in Japan. Orquesta Del Sol, whose former members later formed the Grammy-nominated group Orquesta De La Luz, have continued to influence the genre significantly. Their debut album remains a cornerstone, inviting new listeners to experience the innovative fusion of Latin sounds nurtured in Japan.

DESCRIPTION
At the turn of the 70s, songwriters like Tony Macaulay (‘Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes’), Cook and Greenaway (‘Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart’), Lynsey De Paul and Barry Blue (‘Storm In A Teacup’) and John Carter (‘Beach Baby’) were bossing the singles charts and Radio 1 while more serious acts like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd concentrated on album sales.
“Chip Shop Pop” is a stellar collection of super-melodic, expertly crafted songs; it gathers two dozen of the songs that got away, all potential hits written by these Denmark Street-schooled songwriters. You might have only heard these records once or twice before, coming out of a passing kid's transistor radio, or in the background in a cafe, or a chippie, and then they disappeared into the ether never to be heard again - until now.
Aside from the Fortunes, Marty Wilde and Candlewick Green, very few of these names will be at all familiar but the harmonies, the string and brass arrangements and top session musician playing will all be familiar to anyone who loves the sound of ‘My Baby Loves Lovin'’, ‘Silver Lady’ or ‘(If Paradise Is) Half As Nice’. They are all incredibly catchy.
Compiled by Bob Stanley from his sizeable collection of 70s 7" singles, ”Chip Shop Pop” revives records on Bell, UK, Young Blood and Bradley's, labels that were home to these unabashed radio-friendly sounds that would disappear when first disco, then punk, came along later in the 70s.
Dormant for decades, many unavailable for more than fifty years, here is a perfect collection of sunshine-friendly pop with a capital P.

DESCRIPTION
When Marshall Chess decided to combine a rock group with some of the best voices he could get his hands on he invented a stream of psychedelic rock that was quite different from the one that emerged in Detroit with the help of George Clinton and Norman Whitfield.
Partly this was Marshall’s hippy sensibility, but it was one that fused perfectly with vocalist Minnie Riperton’s own word-view and the musical genius – “no other word for it”: Marshall Chess − of Charles Stepney.
Working across a cleverly arranged mix of originals and cover versions, the recordings featured some of the finest musicians that you could find in Chicago including drummer Morris Jennings, bass players Louis Satterfield and Phil Upchurch, and revolutionary guitarist Pete Cosey, who would later join Miles Davis’ group. Cosey’s guitar playing on their fourth album “Songs”, released in 1969, is incendiary and unparalleled. The vocals were arranged as a perfect choir with a series of leads most notably Minnie, Sidney Barnes and Mitch Aliota.
True success − rather than doing well enough − eluded them, with some bad decisions being made and bad luck also dogging them. When Chess left the company and Barnes the group it looked as if the writing was on the wall for Rotary Connection, but Charles Stepney wanted one more go. The New Rotary Connection came together with a refreshed vocal line up featuring Minnie, Kitty Haywood and Shirley Wahls and songs by Stepney, Minnie’s husband Richard Rudolph and Terry Callier.
“Hey Love” was the album that appeared and it is a gem, that features the astounding ‘I Am The Black Gold Of The Sun’ - later a UK hit in 1997 for Nuyorican Soul, ‘Love Has Fallen On Me’ - later recorded as a tribute to Stepney by Chaka Khan, the beautiful title track and Callier’s stunning ’Song For Everyman’. However the album failed to sell and there was no more records.
As time passed the late 60s and early 70ws productions of Charles Stepney became some of the best loved and most influential of the ear, influencing UK groups such as 4 Hero, Radiohead and more recently Jessie Ware, and “Hey, Love” has been considered one of the peaks of his work.

DESCRIPTION
As part of Ace 50 BGP has hooked up with our old friends at Concord Music to reissue one of the most important albums in our story. In 1987 as the dance jazz scene morphed into acid jazz Billy Hawks ‘Oh Baby (I Believe I’m Losing You)’ was filling the dance floors where either Gilles Peterson or Baz Fe Jazz were playing.
The Prestige Records album that featured the track ‘Heavy Soul!’ was impossible to find, and frustrated DJs were desperately trying to find a copy. BGP - the Ace label that the two DJs helmed - reissued the album and put the in-demand track onto a 12 inch single. With supply sufficient it became a club smash, crossing over to become a mod classic and one of the most important cuts from our scene.
In the ensuing years the tracks status has remained undimmed and the album has never turned up in significant numbers, and yet it has never been reissued since. With an attention to detail that has always been the Ace way, we have carefully mastered the record to be as close to the sound of the original Van Gelder mastering of 1967, and created and accurate representation of the album and label cover art.
Hawks never lived to be rediscovered, but through our musical detective work we tracked down his brother and found out as much of his story as possible, and also unearthed a couple of pictures. The Virginian born organist with the amazing voice was a fixture on the North Eastern lounge bar circuit, which was the entertainment backbone off Black American music at the time, and his full story is told on the illustrated inner sleeve that comes with this release.

DESCRIPTION
In discussions of the classic hip-hop era of the 1980s, frequently lost in the shuffle is the homegrown scene of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is unfortunate due to the wealth of talent the scene produced, including bona fide legends such as Schoolly D, Three Times Dope, Cash Money & Marvelous, and of course, the wildly successful DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. Frequently underrated is Tuff Crew, who were billed as "Philly's First Rap Supergroup", and consisted of a crew of ethnically diverse MCs and a DJ, who were regular performers of North Philly's famed After Midnight club, and who definitely represented a more hardcore rap style than some of their fellow Philly crews. Throughout the mid-to-late 1980s, Tuff Crew performed alongside some of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time, including Run-D.M.C., LL Cool J, and 2 Live Crew, but never reached the heights of commercial success, despite landing various singles on the Billboard Rap charts. The peak of this success undoubtedly came with the release of their 1988 LP Danger Zone, which featured 10 tracks of classic 80s rap, including the Billboard-charting "My Part Of Town" (#23 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles charts). This album cemented Tuff Crew in the hip-hop history books as one of the dopest crews to ever come out of Philly, and unlike most late 80s rap albums, the lyrics and beats still bang hard in 2025.

DESCRIPTION
Those profiled include Egyptian guitarist Omar Khorshid, maverick producer/arranger/composer Elias Rahbani, mysterious talents like Nicolas Dick and Robert Maalouf and the father of the label’s founder, Abdallah Chahine, a pianist of immense talent. As told in detailed liner notes by DJ, music researcher and legacy-keeper Ernesto Chahoud and Natalie Shooter, this period of Lebanese music formed the soundtrack to the city of Beirut during its multiple transformations, from its 1950s to 1960s heyday as ‘the Switzerland of the Orient’ through to the mid 1970s and 1980s, when it soundtracked the tragic days of the Lebanese Civil War. From Chahoud’s liner notes: “I spent years going through thousands of titles from one of the largest catalog of Lebanese and Arabic music, by one of the earliest labels in the Arab world, Voix De L’Orient, to handpick the 12 songs that represent a survey into this momentous catalog. The Lebanese musical experiment, stretching almost seven decades, has offered one of the most complex and fully fledged modern Oriental scenes of the Arab world. These 12 songs were released in different periods and embody a wide range of musical ideas from the most adventurous on the Voix De L’Orient label, those musicians that played major roles in the renaissance of ancient musical traditions. So, from the ’60s and ’70s, you’ll hear Adballah Chahine improvising on Oriental scales on a custom-made piano that he developed in order to play quarter tones; you’ll engage the radical approach to folkloric music from the legendary Iraqi composer and oud player Munir Bechir; you’ll enjoy the timeless blend of Occidental and Oriental forms as fused by the genius Elias Rahbani. The songs by Georgette Sayegh, Adib Abou Antoun and Robert Maalouf give a sense of Lebanon’s unique ’70s and ’80s pop sounds. You might think that this music comes from a foreign, faraway culture, and I suppose it does, for some, but this music is close to us all. This anthology is presented 100 percent free of cultural appropriation. This album is a genuine attempt to escape the ephemeral aspect of everyday, fast music fashions. This album is absolute beauty to play out loud, while waiting for the second volume to come.”

DESCRIPTION
Jackie Mittoo’s ‘Reggae Magic’ is a new collection from the great Jackie Mittoo. The album features a mixture of classic tunes and rarities from the period 1967-74, when Mittoo was at the height of his musical powers.
Mittoo’s solo career began after the end of The Skatalites in 1965. He began pushing new musical boundaries, creating a uniquely identifiable organ-led funky reggae sound that owed as much to Booker T and The MGs, Jimmy Smith, Stax and Motown as to the post-ska and emergent rocksteady island rhythms of Kingston, Jamaica.
His solo work at the legendary Studio One spanned seven albums and hundreds of singles. Aside from producer and founder Clement ‘Sir Coxsone’ Dodd, it’s hard to think of anyone more central to the sound and success of Studio One than Mittoo; keyboard player extraordinaire, songwriter, arranger, musician, truly the Keyboard King at Studio One.
Jackie Mittoo had been the youngest founding member of The Skatalites (at age 16), probably the most important group in Jamaican music. After they split, he became leader of the three pivotal groups at Studio One – The Soul Brothers, The Soul Vendors and Sound Dimension. He also became musical director for Studio One, helping create countless hits for singers Ken Boothe, Bob Andy, The Wailers, John Holt, Delroy Wilson and more – unforgettable tunes like Alton Ellis’ ‘I’m Still in Love with You’, Marcia Griffiths’ ‘Feel Like Jumping’, The Heptones’ ‘Baby Why’ and others.
Between 1965 and 1968, many of the tunes created at Studio One can be attributed to Mittoo – timeless instrumental tracks, recorded either under his own name or those of The Soul Brothers, Soul Vendors and Sound Dimension, that have become the basis for literally 1000s and 1000s of Jamaican songs over many decades, giving the music an unsurpassed longevity.
The endurance of his music was as a direct result of significant developments in Jamaican music in the 1970s, namely the creation of three important new styles: Dub, Deejay and Dancehall. In the early 1970s Mittoo’s instrumental tracks were used as the musical source for a series of classic Studio One dub albums. At the same time Deejays at Studio One, including Dillinger, Prince Jazzbo and Dennis Alcapone, began toasting over these same popular rhythms to create their own new songs.
In the mid-70s, a new generation of Studio One singers and deejays, including Sugar Minott, Freddie McGregor, Johnny Osbourne, Michigan & Smiley and others, began once again creating new melodies over these original instrumentals, signalling the birth of a new Jamaican style that became known as ‘dancehall’. As dancehall swept across the island, rival producers copied these now classic rhythms.
These original Jackie Mittoo-driven tunes spread like a virus throughout Jamaican music; be they the instrumental cuts to tunes such as Alton Ellis’ ‘Mad Mad’ , ‘I’m Just A Guy’, Larry Marshall’s ‘Mean Girl’, Slim Smith’s ‘Rougher Yet’, and instrumentals such as Mittoo’s classic ‘Hot Milk’ or ‘One Step Beyond’, The Sound Dimension’s ‘Real Rock’, ‘Heavy Rock’, ‘Full Up’, ‘Drum Song’, ‘Rockfort Rock’ ... and the list goes on. These tracks became a constant soundtrack to the island, emitting from the ever-present sound of speaker boxes strung up around dancehalls.
This recycling travelled even farther afield; The Sound Dimension’s instrumental ‘Real Rock’, updated by Willie Williams on his classic ‘Armageddon Time’ was in turn covered by The Clash. Lily Allen sampled Mittoo’s debut solo single ‘Free Soul’ for number one hit ‘Smile’; Dawn Penn’s ‘You Don’t Love Me (No, No, No)’, accompanied by The Soul Vendors, was revived by Penn and producers Steely & Cleevie in 1994, since covered by Rihanna, Ghostface Killah, Stephen Marley, Damian Marley and Beyonce.
And so it goes; an endless time-leaping, continent-hopping diasporic musical map of the world with all roads essentially leading back to one man – Jackie Mittoo.Jackie Mittoo’s ‘Reggae Magic’ is a new collection from the great Jackie Mittoo. DESCRIPTION
BBE Music is proud to present the latest J Jazz Masterclass Series reissue, 1978 soul/jazz tour de force album ’Push’ by Noriko Miyamoto.
For the first time, this critically acclaimed series that delves deep into the history of Japanese Jazz will be releasing an album by a Japanese female singer, Noriko Miyamoto produced by one of the legendary figures in Japanese Jazz, Isao Suzuki.
The release of her incredible debut album, ‘Push’, coincided with a surge in popularity for local female jazz singers such Kimiko Kasai, Yasuko Agawa, etc. that crossed over into the pop market. It was originally released by the now-defunct label, Yupiteru Records in 1978. Since then, it has been reissued a few times in Japan but recently, along with a surge of worldwide interest in old Japanese music, ‘Push’ has been gaining a cult status among foreign music heads, with the price for an original pressing skyrocketing in the second hand record market. This reissue of ‘Push’ will be the first time ever that this album will be officially released worldwide.
Long before R&B music went onto enjoy mainstream success in Japan, a soul music and disco loving lady, Noriko Miyamoto who started her music career working as a dancer at the legendary Tokyo disco, ‘Mugen’, was inspired by Tina Turner’s performance there and decided to became a soul singer. It was at a time in the early 1970s when there were only a handful of female songstresses who sang soulfully in Japan. In 1977, Miyamoto was scouted by Isao Suzuki to join his band, Soul Family and subsequently, with their backing, he produced Push, an album that kickstarted her career. It is an album that exquisitely combines her jazzy and soulful vocals with Suzuki’s acoustic bass and precocious playing from his youthful and vibrant group at the time.
Along with Sadao Watanabe, Terumasa Hino, Masabumi Kikuchi and George Otsuka, bassist, cellist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, producer and band leader, Isao Suzuki was considered to be one of the most influential figures in Japanese jazz history. Beloved by many in the Japanese jazz scene as “Oma-san”- Suzuki was renowned for developing young talent. Noriko was one of his prodigies, and so ‘Push’ became a vehicle to showcase her and his band as well, which featured notably future renowned players such as keyboardist, Masanori Sasaji, who went on to back Yasuaki Shimizu and guitarist, Kazumasa Akiyama, who played with many major Japanese Jazz musicians. According to Noriko, these young musicians in the group helped Suzuki create a brand new sound, mixing orthodox jazz with the crossover / fusion sound that was popular at the time, coming together supremely on ‘Push’.
For ‘Push’, Suzuki focused on Noriko’s unique prowess of singing songs in English, somewhat a rarity in the Japanese music scene at the time. She sang two jazz standards, ‘Everything I Have Is Yours’ and ‘Stella By Starlight’ on the album. Noriko also wrote English lyrics for two original compositions of Suzuki’s, an instrumental piece, ‘Cadillac Woman’, and ‘My Life’, a song that he composed for Kimiko Kasai, who’d originally sung it in Japanese on her 1977 album, ’Tokyo Special’.
Noriko fulfilled her long-held dream of becoming a soul singer after she moved to the US in 1990 and subsequently joined a number of prestigious outfits, such as Eddie Murphy’s band, Graham Central Station, the Brothers Johnson and Side Effect, but ‘Push’ is the album that paved the way for her career and hopefully, with this first time ever, worldwide reissue, it will attract more listeners. Sadly the producer of this album, Isao Suzuki sadly passed away recently at the age of 89. It is unfortunate that he was not able to see the reissue of this special album that he produced for Noriko Miyamoto.

DESCRIPTION
When Night Owls released their first 45 in July 2019, few could have predicted that their vision of reimagining soul classics in a Jamaican style would blossom into a catalog of fifteen 45s featuring a total of 27 songs with many of today's leading soul singers and legendary artists. Following the success of their first compilation LP, "Versions," it was only a matter of time before Night Owls would grace us with a Vol. 2. Now, in 2025, we are excited to present "Versions II," which compiles their latest seven 45s to date, tastefully programmed from start to finish. Raising the bar even higher, this production team, comprising Dan Ubick, Blake Colie, Dave Wilder, and Roger Rivas, further cements their distinct vision and signature sound, delivering hit after hit over the years. With Night Owls' twist on many beloved, chart-topping hits and diggers' choice deep cuts (including the highly in-demand and long-sold-out single "After Laughter b/w Didn't I"), producer Dan Ubick has once again meticulously curated a tracklist that highlights each vocalist's strengths. Featuring many well-known guest artists such as Hollie Cook (Prince Fatty, Mr. Bongo), N'Dea Davenport (The Brand New Heavies), Chris Dowd (Fishbone), Ranking Joe (Greensleeves, Joe Gibbs), Tippa Lee (Studio One, Dub Club), Trish Toledo, Asdru Sierra (Ozomatli), Malik Moore (Ocean 11), Alex Désert (Hepcat) & The Lions, Eli "Paperboy" Reed, Destani Wolf, Gina Murrell (U Roy, Wailing Souls, Orgone), Chris Murray, Miles Tackett (Breakestra, Funky Sole), and Jr. Thomas & The Volcanos, "Versions II" is yet another heavy soul and dub-infused LP, ready for turntables across the globe.

DESCRIPTION
More than thirty years after their seismic arrival, the legendary Wu-Tang Clan remains as relevant as ever, whether inspiring an acclaimed TV series or securing a historic Las Vegas artist residency. With a wealth of talent that may never be duplicated, the group’s impact has been amplified by the solo careers of all nine members. Masta Killa has been an important part of this legacy, with four acclaimed solo albums containing countless Wu classics. Now, in the midst of the last Wu-Tang Clan tour ever, Masta Killa is back with the highly anticipated new album Balance. Lyrically, Killa proves his sword is sharper than ever, sharing wise words alongside a diverse set of guests including Method Man, Snoop Dogg, RZA, Raekwon, N.O.R.E., Cappadonna, AZ, Uncle Murda, and more. “What the world and the musical universe needs now is balance,” Masta Killa explains. Capturing a wide spectrum of moods and content, Balance embodies its title perfectly.

DESCRIPTION
Jackpot Records is extremely proud to announce our reissue of the revered reggae album 1976's War Ina Babylon by Max Romeo & The Upsetters. Originally released on Island Records, the album is considered one of the greatest Reggae albums of all time and was a massive influence on the UK punk movement that was just starting to bubble to the surface. The record's incredible power belies an unlikely partnership between one of the world's greatest producers (and experimenters in sound), Lee "Scratch" Perry, and vocalist Max Romeo (who by 1976 had performed on over 120 7" singles) Romeo had been transforming from his "rude" records to writing lyrics with social themes as the era in Jamaica was rife with poverty, gangs, and politically motivated killings. As he was looking to produce protest music at it's most powerful alongside music that would never leave the listener's souls, Lee Perry and Max Romeo started collaborating together. Recorded in two weeks in 1976, utilizing Lee Perry's kitchen sink production, War Ina Babylon is considered part of Lee Perry's 'holy trinity' Black Ark produced LPs released by Island Records (Junior Murvin's Police and Thieves and The Heptones' Party Time being the other classics LPs in the trinity), this LP continues to find new fans with every passing generation.

DESCRIPTION
AOI: Bionix is De La Soul's sixth full-length album, released on December 4, 2001. The first single, "Baby Phat" featuring Yummy Bingham and Devin the Dude, was an ode to larger sized women. Elsewhere, "Held Down", featuring Cee-Lo, found Posdnuos in an introspective mood as he mused on fatherhood, religion, and fame. Slick Rick also made an appearance on "What We Do (For Love)"; a humorous song about puberty and sexual discovery. The album featured skits with a character by the name of Reverend Do Good, which worked as social commentary as well as the intros and outros of the songs. The final Reverend Do Good skit acts as one final advertisement for Ghost Weed as heard on De La Soul's previous album, Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump. A mischievous teenager takes a hit of the substance, then morphs into Slum Village frontman J Dilla, who provides the intro and outro to the marijuana-themed song "Peer Pressure" (which he also produced).

Trust Gang meets Black Sopranos meets a completely reimagined version of the original ‘Trust The Sopranos’ album. ‘The Big Ghost Ltd ‘83 Miami Edition’ of the album was executive produced by 38 Spesh and De Rap Winkel, and sonically brought to fruition by the aforementioned, world infamous, Big Ghost Ltd. The sounds transport the listener to a time when Lamborghini Countaches and Ferrari Testarossas reigned supreme. To when Moët was the luxury beverage young street entrepreneurs aspired to pop. To a time when oversized dookie rope chains were the ultimate symbol of success amongst aspiring hustlers. Reaganomics. Cocaine. Pastel suits. The melding of these ingredients would inspire and provide the blueprints for Scarface, Miami Vice, and other depictions of 80s criminal decadence. This is also what inspired the sounds and visuals for this project.

Dream Manifest is the latest visionary statement from GRAMMY-nominated trumpeter, composer, and producer Theo Croker—a transcendent sonic journey blending jazz, soul, electronica, and Afro-futurist storytelling into a genre-fluid experience. Brought to life with an elite ensemble and shaped through intentional craftsmanship, the album invites listeners into a dreamstate where ritual, resistance, and revelation unfold through sound. From the meditative invocation of “Prelude 3” to the dance-floor liberation of “We Still Wanna Dance” and the interdimensional elegance of “One Pillow” (featuring Estelle and Kassa Overall), Croker builds a soundscape where dualities meet: acoustic and synthetic, earthly and cosmic, past and future. Produced entirely by Croker with select collaborators like D’LEAU, Elie, and Kassa Overall, and mixed by longtime engineer Todd Carder, Dream Manifest is rooted in improvisation and intentionality. DESCRIPTION
“Raw & Alive – The Seeds In Concert” may just possibly be the greatest “live” album that never was. Released in 1968 towards the end of the original quartet’s career, the album was an attempt to deliver on vinyl the live frenzy that these garage legends were notorious for in person.
The album is highly regarded by Seeds aficionados, containing as it does exciting versions of band classics like ‘No Escape’ and ‘Up In Her Room’, as well as superlative new originals such as the punkoid ‘Satisfy You’, the latter a clear return to form after the flowery “Future” long-player. But most are unaware that the performances were actually cut live in the studio, with applause added afterward for release.
The original premise was for a Seeds show to be taped in front of an audience. Attended by the bands fan club, a live studio performance was recorded in February 1968, only to be scrapped at the last minute. The second disc of our deluxe vinyl reissue features this planned album in the form in which it was prepared for release, direct from the assembled master tape which has not been heard until now. The early version included the rare ‘Hubbly Bubbly Love’, which would not be re-recorded for “Raw & Alive”.
The new 2LP “Raw & Alive” is the fourth in the series of Seeds expanded editions and comes with a 8-page booklet, with notes from compiler Alec Palao that detail the history of the swansong of the original Seeds personnel, illustrated with unseen photos of the quartet on stage in their mid-60s heyday.

DESCRIPTION
Released exclusively in Germany in March 1966, “Black Monk Time” by The Monks has become a cult classic -praised as a groundbreaking forerunner to punk and krautrock. Though the album was overlooked at the time, its bold sound and sharp lyrics have earned it lasting influence and critical acclaim.
The Monks were five American G.I.s stationed near Heidelberg, West Germany. Originally performing as a typical beat group under the name the 5 Torquays, they evolved into something far more radical. After discovering guitar feedback by accident and embracing a raw, percussive approach, they caught the attention of two German ad men—Walther Niemann and Karl Remy—who became their managers and helped reinvent their identity.
Dressed in monks' robes with tonsured hair and noose neckties, the band developed a confrontational, rhythm heavy sound. Nowhere is this clearer than in the album’s opening track, ‘Monk Time,’ which captures their entire aesthetic in under three minutes. A pounding, repetitive groove of bass and drums anchors the track, layered with distorted guitar bursts, percussive electric banjo, chaotic organ stabs, and unrestrained, shouted vocals. It’s a declaration of intent—urgent, jarring, and unforgettable.
Their sole studio album, produced by Jimmy Bowien and recorded in Cologne in late 1965, defied musical norms. From the explosive opener ‘Monk Time’ to the fierce ‘Complication,’ “Black Monk Time” rejected flower power for something more urgent—anger, humor, and innovation.
At the time, Polydor Records deemed the music too radical for American audiences, delaying its U.S. release. Despite its initial commercial failure, the album is now seen as a pivotal moment in rock history—loud, strange, and unapologetically ahead of its time. The Monks' story is as unlikely as their sound: five ex-soldiers and two ad executives creating one of the most daring records of the ‘60s. The band never sparked the revolution they hinted at, but decades later, “Black Monk Time” still resonates. This is your chance to experience the album that dared to be different - don’t miss it.
Remastered sound from the tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl.

DESCRIPTION
Ranil is undoubtedly the most unconventional figure among the greats of Amazonian cumbia, earning a well-deserved place alongside all the better-known iconic bands. He worked as a teacher, criollo guitarist, radio host, TV entrepreneur, and politician, but gained lasting fame as the founder of Ranil y Su Conjunto Tropical in the 1970s.
By 1968, around the same time Los Destellos were making waves in Lima, groups like Los Wembler’s de Iquitos and Juaneco y su Combo began electrifying cumbia in Iquitos. This new genre, dubbed Amazonian cumbia, exploded nationwide in 1973, thanks to hits by Juaneco y su Combo, Los Mirlos, and Los Wembler’s. The success these bands achieved spawned dozens of other groups from the Amazon. Ranil, always a visionary, recognized the movement’s potential and joined forces through his first single recorded on the Dinsa label in 1974. Unhappy with the contractual terms, he went on to found Producciones Llerena, the label on which he would release the rest of his discography.
Over the years, Ranil y su Conjunto Tropical featured guitarists like Límber Zumba and Luis Nigro, while Ranil remained the lead vocalist and bassist for group. Zumba and Nigro had already played with other regional bands and written songs for groups like Los Destellos and Los Mirlos.
This compilation offers a glimpse into the vast musical output Ranil created in the late 1970s and early 1980s, bringing together 14 tracks from the band’s 10 LPs. These records have always been hard to come by as, despite being recorded in Lima, they were distributed by Ranil from Iquitos. Psychedelia, rock fusion, cumbia, salsa, mambo, Amazonian folk… you’ll find all these flavors blended into the vibrant, jungle-rich sound Ranil crafted.

This compilation brings together for the first time the best songs by Los Zheros, one of the most renowned cumbia bands to emerge in the early 1970s in Iquitos—alongside groups like Los Rogers and Los Wemblers—in the heart of Peru's Amazon capital.
The unique Amazonian sound blended fast, percussive cumbia rhythms with electric guitars in a surf style—a distinctive fusion that came to define Peruvian-recorded cumbia, markedly different from the traditional cumbia styles that developed in other cumbia-producing countries like Colombia.
The album includes their psychedelic rock hit ‘Cuarto Oscuro,’ a highly sought-after track not only by cumbia collectors but also by garage and psychedelic DJs. This song also marked the beginning of their recording career in 1973.
This compilation is a joint release with the Peruvian label Rey Record and comes with an insert featuring never- before-seen photos of the band, as well as liner notes by genre expert Víctor Zela (the mind behind the prestigious project "La Cumbia de mis Viejos").

DESCRIPTION
"Paloma mensajera" (featuring members of New Juggler Sound / Laghonia) shows the shift that was taking place within Peruvian rock away from psych and hard rock which had predominated during the early 70s.
The style adopted by Grupo Amigos (and other bands and artists during this period) highlights the influence of soft rock, UK, US and Latin American folk rock and, above all, the desire to keep the melodic greatness of The Beatles alive. The positive reception albums by artists such as We All Together, Telegraph Avenue and Zulu garnered between 1972 and 1975, marked a change of paradigm and in preferences within the Peruvian rock scene. Eclecticism gained new ground, to the detriment of the sectarian and orthodox, while melody grew more present and visible, moving away from the progressive experimentation that typified underground Peruvian rock up to the beginning of the 70s.
For their first single on MAG, included on this reissue, the band adopted a formula in which Beatles harmonies converged symmetrically with folk motifs. ‘Dirty Girl' was a hit on the radio. A full album followed but only a fairly small number of copies of the album were pressed, which seems to have been the main reason for omitting it from the historical accounts of Peruvian rock music from the late 90s onwards.
In "Paloma mensajera" all compositions were penned by the group, after several years during which cover versions were a staple. Some of the musical resources that the band had at their disposal in terms of composition and arrangements are striking and even surprising, considering that they were a debut band, whose members were under the age of 20. The arrangements included the clever use of a Moog synthesizer which had just arrived at the MAG studio.
The success achieved by the Beatles tribute performances played by the members of Grupo Amigos for decades have eclipsed the songs that Edmundo, Andrés Da Ros and Simón Ames composed with youthful enthusiasm and energy between 1972 and 1973 to the point where they have almost been forgotten. This re-release of "Paloma mensajera" should help rectify this major injustice. It includes bonus tracks and extensive liner notes.

“Anti Todo” is Eskorbuto’s most celebrated album, recorded in the shortest time imaginable and released in 1985. It shows what the Spanish punk band did best: hitting the studio with as much raw energy, provocation, inspiration, and natural talent as possible.
A new remastering for this edition has given the album the richer, more vibrant sound it always deserved. We can once again enjoy the urgency, simplicity, and rage of this refreshed “Anti Todo”, a true classic recorded at Eskorbuto’s peak of their creativity and energy.
It includes a large poster and insert with notes.

3. CEREBROS DESTRUIDOS
4. HA LLEGADO EL MOMENTO (EL FIN)

DESCRIPTION
1985 was a landmark year for punk rock in the Basque country, and possibly for the whole of Spain. Punk merged with the Basque Radical Rock (Rock Radikal Vasco or RRV) movement, although this was not necessarily always the case. For instance, Eskorbuto invariably kept their distance from the movement and everything related to it.
Hardship was part and parcel of Eskorbuto's life and musical career. All their albums were recorded in the shortest time imaginable, partly due to tight budgets (studios were expensive, labels were close-fisted), and partly because Josu and Jualma needed to spend the money on other things…
When it came to recording “Anti Todo”, Eskorbuto stuck to what they did best: hitting the studio with as much raw energy, provocation, inspiration, and natural talent as possible. It was their best record and we have to ask: what would Eskorbuto have been capable of if they had more time, a bigger budget, and tighter control? The song ‘Tamara’ was practically composed on the spot in the studio in less than two recording days, as was much of ‘Ha llegado el momento’.
The experienced sound technician did an outstanding job, but a new remastering for this rerelease has given the album the richer, more vibrant sound it always deserved. We can once again enjoy the urgency, simplicity, and rage of this refreshed “Anti Todo”, a true classic in our musical history, originally released in 1985 at Eskorbuto’s peak of their creativity and energy.
This edition of the album includes a large poster and insert with notes.

DESCRIPTION
Welcome to a kaleidoscopic picnic where you can feast on a music scene that was rich, sparkling, multi-colored, ground-breaking and it’ll blow your mind. A prodigious soundscape that blends the Caribbean and the Amazon sophistication and flavors; raw yet delicate textures.
“Joropop. Psych Pop & Folk in Venezuela, 1968-1976” features infectious Latin rock rhythms and timeless folk melodies across 15 ultra-rare tracks—most of which have never been reissued until now.
The golden age of Caracas pop started in 1965. It replaced the wave of cloyingly romantic song writing as fresh talents leant into richer and more complex styles: folk-rock, psychedelia, soul, hard blues, symphonic pop, Latin rock etc. Singer-songwriters, experimental electric guitars and jam sessions all appeared on the scene, creating music that became increasingly refined and free. The industry took a while to catch on to this new trend and leave behind the teen idols and dream lifestyles.
By the late 60s, there was a long list of new bands in the capital city. Young people finally found their voice.
Let’s set off together to discover the magic of Caracas in the late ‘60s!

DESCRIPTION
A photo in Rodney Stepp’s scrapbook sums this period in his life in music. It’s 1974, The Spinners were headliners at the “Zaire 74” music festival, a sideshow to Muhammad Ali’s fabled “Rumble in the Jungle” fight with George Foreman. Among the faded snapshots, there’s a picture of Stepp backstage posing arm in arm with Ali; another image shows The Greatest seated at Stepp’s Fender Rhodes alongside vocalist Etta James. It was all a dream for this Naptown wunderkind, who had previously recorded for Herb Miller’s LAMP Records as the Diplomatics and had issued the sweet soul killer “Young Girl” as Jazzie Cazzie and the Eight Sounds on a rare Knaptown 45. (These recordings have been documented on the Now-Again LAMP anthology and our Loving On The Flipside compilation.) But as exciting as his rise out of those local status was, as exciting as it was to headline festivals and arenas and appear on late night talk shows, Stepp grew restless with the mechanical routine of being a sideman. He grew tired of playing the same charts night after night. He was hungry for a creative outlet that mimicked his earliest days in recorded music. So, in 1978, Stepp left The Spinners and returned to Indianapolis, where he established an all-stargroup of musicians–including members of Jazzie Cazzie and the fabled Amnesty–and he named the band Rapture. They inspired countless others. They recorded an album’s worth of material. Now-Again’s Egon first got tapes from Stepp in 2002 and dutifully transferred them, but the time was not right for a foray into this wealth of material. Come 2025, and this is the first time it Rapture’s music is seeing the light of day, a triumphant, late career moment for Stepp and a cause for celebration of those intrigued by deep, sweet soul and disco funk

DESCRIPTION
With an ever-growing horde of rappers clamoring for attention, manifesting a successful long-term career in hip-hop has become an almost supernatural achievement, reserved for artists with near-mystical talents. Atlanta emcee Tha God Fahim embraces this role, positioning himself as a divine warrior with lyrical powers transcending this earthly realm, battling dark forces with tactical ingenuity and relentless dedication. This artistic vision has become even more vivid in recent years, culminating in the wildly creative series Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap with acclaimed producer Nicholas Craven. Inspired by the anime phenomenon Dragon Ball and its conception of a dimension unconstrained by the rules of time, Fahim and Craven just concluded the ambitious endeavor with a staggering fifteen volumes released in only eight months. Taken collectively, Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap forms a vital entry in Tha God Fahim's catalog, blending gritty narratives of hustle and hardship with intergalactic rhyme wizardry. Fahim's stratospheric ambitions are elevated by exquisite production from Nicholas Craven, known for his work with Roc Marciano, Mach-Hommy, Westside Gunn, Conway, Boldy James, Pink Siifu, and more. After a limited release on Bandcamp, Nature Sounds is now rolling out the Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap series on vinyl.
