DESCRIPTION

Coalmine Records is excited to announce a special release of their acclaimed Pharoahe Monch single, “Get Down,” remixed by none other than BX legend, Buckwild. Everything about the track is an absolute feast for hip-hop heads. Longtime fans of Monch will no doubt remember his previous work with Buck, who produced several cuts on Organized Konfusion’s classic albums, Stress: The Extinction Agenda and The Equinox. And with his work on the remix, Buck reconnects with Monch with the same appeal that epitomized their timeless chemistry.

Whereas M-Phazes injected the original “Get Down” with a soulful, upbeat instrumental, Buck flips the script and takes it back to the Golden Era. The end result is a jazzy, more reflective track equipped with Buck’s trademark use of the vibraphone and neck-snapping drums. DJ Revolution—who’s also featured on the original—overhauled the hook by including scratched samples from Buck’s fellow DITC members Lord Finesse and Diamond D. It’s all just another great creation from the acclaimed producer.
