Robert Glasper, Karriem Riggins, and Common have joined forces to form August Greene. They have each worked together off and on over the past twenty years in various capacities so, the group's formation was bound to happen at some point. However, with each artist fully established on in their own right, the timing of this body of songs is right on target. Part protest, part celebration of life, August Greene encompasses the best of each style and skill that the three offer individually, blending them with a message that comforts and empowers. The lead single "Optimistic" is a cover from the legendary Sounds of Blackness that sets the tone-we are unashamedly Black and that is something that even you should be thankful for! Originally released in the summer of 2018 exclusively through Amazon music, this 2xLP album has come to light through the Fat Beats label.
