The single further showcases the authentic, high-quality craftsmanship of producer and drummer aDUBta, who hails from Bavaria, Germany. Known for his analog production style and hands-on approach, aDUBta played and recorded all instruments himself. "Mr. Money Man" was written during a series of sessions last year, as part of the duo’s ongoing effort to channel the timeless vibes of 1960s Studio One. Jackpot Records is extremely proud to announce our reissue of the revered reggae album 1976's War Ina Babylon by Max Romeo & The Upsetters. Originally released on Island Records, the album is considered one of the greatest Reggae albums of all time and was a massive influence on the UK punk movement that was just starting to bubble to the surface. The record's incredible power belies an unlikely partnership between one of the world's greatest producers (and experimenters in sound), Lee "Scratch" Perry, and vocalist Max Romeo (who by 1976 had performed on over 120 7" singles) Romeo had been transforming from his "rude" records to writing lyrics with social themes as the era in Jamaica was rife with poverty, gangs, and politically motivated killings. As he was looking to produce protest music at it's most powerful alongside music that would never leave the listener's souls, Lee Perry and Max Romeo started collaborating together. Recorded in two weeks in 1976, utilizing Lee Perry's kitchen sink production, War Ina Babylon is considered part of Lee Perry's 'holy trinity' Black Ark produced LPs released by Island Records (Junior Murvin's Police and Thieves and The Heptones' Party Time being the other classics LPs in the trinity), this LP continues to find new fans with every passing generation.

AOI: Bionix is De La Soul's sixth full-length album, released on December 4, 2001. The first single, "Baby Phat" featuring Yummy Bingham and Devin the Dude, was an ode to larger sized women. Elsewhere, "Held Down", featuring Cee-Lo, found Posdnuos in an introspective mood as he mused on fatherhood, religion, and fame. Slick Rick also made an appearance on "What We Do (For Love)"; a humorous song about puberty and sexual discovery. The album featured skits with a character by the name of Reverend Do Good, which worked as social commentary as well as the intros and outros of the songs. The final Reverend Do Good skit acts as one final advertisement for Ghost Weed as heard on De La Soul's previous album, Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump. A mischievous teenager takes a hit of the substance, then morphs into Slum Village frontman J Dilla, who provides the intro and outro to the marijuana-themed song "Peer Pressure" (which he also produced).

DESCRIPTION
The third Roots album (counting Organix) is still criminally slept on. Thankfully DGC has given it a proper vinyl reissue so more heads can get up on this 1996 hip-hop classic. Illadelph Halflife is the starting point of the sound that has dominated their subsequent records: half live, half studio with a thin line in between. Illadelph captures that dynamic in its rawest state, when The Roots still flaunted home studio-type EQs and non-radio hooks (waaay before the Tonight Show era). This aesthetic is best captured on the album's many standouts like "Concerto of the Desperado," "Respond React," "Push Up Ya Lighter," "Clones," "Universe At War" featuring Common, "Ital" featuring Q-Tip, and "What They Do." 20 tracks on double vinyl, recommended.

Trust Gang meets Black Sopranos meets a completely reimagined version of the original ‘Trust The Sopranos’ album. ‘The Big Ghost Ltd ‘83 Miami Edition’ of the album was executive produced by 38 Spesh and De Rap Winkel, and sonically brought to fruition by the aforementioned, world infamous, Big Ghost Ltd. The sounds transport the listener to a time when Lamborghini Countaches and Ferrari Testarossas reigned supreme. To when Moët was the luxury beverage young street entrepreneurs aspired to pop. To a time when oversized dookie rope chains were the ultimate symbol of success amongst aspiring hustlers. Reaganomics. Cocaine. Pastel suits. The melding of these ingredients would inspire and provide the blueprints for Scarface, Miami Vice, and other depictions of 80s criminal decadence. This is also what inspired the sounds and visuals for this project.
