- This limited 7-inch pressing serves as a precursor to the full length offering, The Infamous LIVE.
- Both Reid and Havoc were commissioned to score the Nas directed Mass Appeal/Showtime film Supreme Team which debuted at the ’22 Tribeca Film Festival to rave reviews.
- The duo are set to take The Infamous LIVE on the road with Benny’s live jazz band backing Havoc and special guests.
- Benny Reid first burst onto the NYC jazz scene in 2007 with his critically acclaimed debut LP, Findings (Concord Records).
- To date, Benny has composed music for major brands such as Mercedes, Subway, Doritos and Gevalia Coffee, in addition to TV themes, including Showtime’s Homeland, Amazon’s Homecoming, and Apple’s For All Mankind.
The only way to reimagine a classic such as The Infamous is to ensure that the utmost care and integrity is adhered to during the construction. Fortunately, I found myself immersed in the absolute majesty of the source material, some of which was directly performed by my idols, as well as teachers. The brilliance of the original record created a dichotomy of sorts. The material is so desirable to replay, but how to do so in order to warrant a rebirth? The answer lied in stretching the boundaries of my acoustic instruments and jazz background. I hope you enjoy The Infamous Live as much as I enjoyed creating it. -Benny Reid
