Recorded at Gallo Studios in September 1976, Chapita was Dick Khoza’s lone solo release on the infamous South African As-Shams imprint. With Dick Khoza wrapped in a tribal blanket on the album’s cover, Chapita is an assertion of African identity and pride. A true South African Jazz classic that offers long songs with underlying funk.
