DESCRIPTION

This album concludes a trilogy that has spanned years, a deeply personal journey narrated through sound. I Was Told There’d Be Gold is not merely the final chapter of a story but a profound reflection on the pursuit of something promised. Chords and samples were meticulously crafted and chopped by Rashad himself in his home studio, with his family nearby. Inspired by a desire for an authentic and one-of-a-kind piece of work, he drew from his memories. The result is timeless black music, classic breakbeats, Brazilian soul, House Music, R&B slow jams, and even a sweeping jazz orchestration on the final track “make believe”. “I Was Told There’d Be Gold,” delves into the contract Rashad has seemingly made with his creator. He refuses to accept “No” as an answer and faithfully expects his promise to be fulfilled. -Elev8theGame
